Part-time (25 hours/week) | Remote Position with Regular In-Person Engagement Throughout the Monadnock Region (Home Office Required)

The Monadnock Grown Coalition (MGC), formerly the Monadnock Farm and Community Coalition and currently transitioning to its new name, seeks a dynamic, community-minded Director and coalition-builder to lead coordination efforts that support a thriving, equitable, and sustainable local food system in the Monadnock Region.
MGC is a regional coalition of farmers, organizations, institutions, businesses, and community members working together to strengthen local agriculture, expand food access, and build food system resilience through collaboration, education, advocacy, and community engagement. As the coalition enters this next chapter, the Director will play a key role in advancing MGC’s mission, fostering partnerships, and guiding its continued growth and impact across the region.
About the Role
The Director serves as the primary coordinator of the Coalition, supported by the Board of Directors, in implementing the Strategic Plan and advancing MGC’s mission. This role blends leadership, facilitation, communications, fundraising support, and organizational management. The ideal candidate is a coalition-builder who can engage diverse stakeholders, identify community needs, and rally partners toward collective action. This person must be comfortable representing the Coalition publicly and building relationships across sectors including agriculture, nonprofits, schools, policy, and community organizations.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate Coalition activities and support Strategic Plan implementation
• Facilitate work groups and quarterly forums
• Lead communications including newsletter, social media, and website updates
• Support fundraising, grant writing, and donor engagement• Manage events including farm tours, forums, and community gatherings
• Oversee data collection, reporting, and administrative systems
• Strengthen partnerships and community engagement across the region
• Availability for frequent in-person events, meetings, and community engagement throughout the Monadnock region
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone with experience in:
• Nonprofit administration and community engagement
• Coalition-building, facilitation, or network coordination
• Fundraising, grant writing, or donor relations
• Marketing, communications, and social media
• Project and event management
• Local food systems, agriculture, food access, or related fields
Strong communication skills, organizational ability, and confidence working independently in a fast-paced, self-directed environment are essential.
Preferred Skills
• Experience in advocacy, grant writing, or website management
• Familiarity with farming, food access, or regional food systems
• Graphic design or CRM/database experience
