Join the Monadnock Farm to School Network for a “Farm to School DAY CAMP for Teachers” at the Cornucopia Project Educational Farm in Peterborough on Monday, August 21st, from 10am - 3pm. This free camp will provide teachers classroom-ready curriculum through demonstrations, a farm tour, group activities, and games - just like a real camp!

Agenda:

10am (10 mins) Who you are: rapid fire introductions 

10:15 Demonstrations

  • Pollinator habitat Plant/ insect ID activity 

  • Natural plant dyes 

  • Build a raised bed with plans and costs 

11:45 Food Prep Demo

12pm Free lunch - Delicious vegetables from the farm, sandwiches, & more!

12:30 Farm tour walk: Regenerative gardening/ farming practices, resources for teachers 

1:15 Breakout groups: 

  • School garden: Curriculum integration

  • Grants & funding

  • Introducing animals into school gardening

  • Worm bin, rabbit & chickens!

2:30 Group activity/games:

  • Food web activity

  • Build a bean teepee!

Participants will have a chance to win a classroom cooking supplies bundle, raised garden bed for your school, or barrel composter.
